Welcome to High Tea with Elephants!
We’re so excited to share this with you. So much love and hard work has gone into creating this platform. Celebrating ‘the art of safari’ is something we’re very passionate about and after almost two years since conception, we are finally here.
High Tea with Elephants might have been the vision of one but it was created by a community:
Umuntu Ngumuntu Ngabantu: “A person is a person because of people.”
There are so many people who have supported us right from the start and have generously given us their time, skill and advice. We are truly grateful.
Almost a year ago we approached Iaan van Niekerk from PlusPlusMinus to take on the development of our project. Without Iaan’s guidance, patience and expertise none of this would be possible (or as beautiful). We couldn’t have picked a better team to work with and can’t wait to develop High Tea with Elephants into something even bigger and better, together. Thank you.
A few months ago two ex-Getaway girls, Christie & Kate, bumped into each other on the side of a dusty road in the Limpopo National Park in Mozambique. Kate Goss embraced my vision of High Tea with Elephants, polished it and helped bring it to life with her eye for detail, digital savviness and extensive knowledge of the safari industry. And she can write beautifully too… Thank you, Kate.
Christie: I first mentioned the concept behind High Tea with Elephants to Shara Burger last year. Since then I have been so lucky to have the most supportive cheerleader who happens to also be a brilliant budding photographer in the lowveld. Thank you for all you’ve done for HTWE, Sha. You’ve inspired, motivated and gently pushed me along the way.
