This Christmas, we’re steering away from garish red and gold palettes and gaudy smiling Santas (don’t get us wrong, these are fun too) and trying something a little different in the bush. We’ve looked at inspiration from all over the world, and it’s wonderful to see how many foreign style elements work so well in an African setting.

Built over an ancient elephant path, Mfuwe Lodge is renowned for its bountiful mango tree. Every spring, when the fruits ripen, an entire elephant herd lumbers through the lodge reception to gorge themselves on the feast beyond.
