Safari sundowners with Port2Port wines

WORDS by KATE BLACK | IMAGES by SHARA B PHOTOGRAPHY and JUSTIN POGGENPOEL

At High Tea with Elephants, we love nothing more than finding a quiet spot in the bush to share some snacks and a delicious bottle of vino. Fortunately, being on safari allows for these occasions more often than one might think – a crisp glass of rosé in the lunchtime picnic shade, a cool Sauvignon Blanc on the Landy at sundown, a bottle of red for those chilly evenings around the campfire.

What a treat it was, then, to receive a beautiful box of fine wines on our ‘stoep’ one afternoon – delivered and accompanied with a handwritten note, from Port2Port.

Port2Port is a wonderful online shop that stocks a big selection of both young and vintage wines from some of the best wineries in the Western Cape (Cederberg, Creation and Iona are some of our favourites!). The best part? They can all be ordered online and delivered right to your door.

Sometimes the finest wines are best appreciated in the remotest of places – thanks to Port2Port, we’ll be doing just that!
